We had a good weekend. We also had talks about a week days food charity bazaar as well as a rooftop party. We already have shoppers, who overheard the discussion, registering their contact details to be notified of the rooftop party. Hanni's Bridal

Hanni Hassan, a Wedding Planner has a booth in Bijou Bazaar. She sells embroidery works, handmade paper products as well as other handicrafts by her and her adorable daughters.

If you are looking for unique gift items, I recommend items being retailed on her shelves. If you are planning a wedding, you can drop by to speak to her as well or to just watch Hanni and the girls produce beautiful handicrafts.

They will also give handbags retailing a try. One black handbag got sold while they were sorting out the goods. Here are the ones left; if you're interested, do be at the bazaar early since they only bring one piece per design!

Anggun Collection

Anggun Boutique, located in Jalan Dungun is showcasing some products from their collection in Bijou Bazaar this weekend. The ones that captured my eyes are:

A gorgeous selection of ATBM (alat tenun bukan mesin) textured wrap and shawl set.

High quality cotton kain panjang; if you have extra cash, these kain panjang being retailed at RM 65 would go very well with cotton kebaya sulam or even a plain kurung top. Instead of tailoring it into a normal sarong, you can get your tailor to make a kain kipas or kain duyong. If you want to jazz the kain panjang up, you can tastefully add beadings.

Knitted pua design long skirts are available in two colours; lime green and brown.

They make beautiful home decor items.

Clay soaps by a local company, which is claimed to be able to remove blackheads (I'll try them and let you know if they work).


This is my favourite piece from Anggun. It comes in silver and gold and in several designs. It is a versatile piece:

+ you can use it as a brooch for your plain kebaya or kurung
+ if you have a simple lace kebaya labuh and you wish to add drama, you can make a fabric belt (preferably using shantung silk) and pin the brooch onto the belt
+ you can turn it into a pendant and team it up with your black tube top
+ you can even use it to jazz your clutch bag up (applies to fabric or suede clutch bags only)!

and it's not even pricey, at RM 35 only!

Kak Leha's Corner

There was an enquiry for batik sarongs at the bazaar last weekend, there was only two pieces available and the shopper took both home. The sarongs were for her kebaya sulam nyonya.

For the weekend, Kak Leha is bringing more batik sarong and kain panjang selection. They are good quality cotton kain sarong and kain panjang selling at a mere RM 18 and RM 20, respectively.
